Firearm & NFA Transfer & Abandoned Firearms Policy

Iron Sights Armory (“we,” “our,” or “us”) follows all federal, state, and local laws regarding the transfer of firearms and National Firearms Act (NFA) regulated items. This policy also explains how we handle firearms that are not picked up in a timely manner.

1. General Firearm Transfers

All firearm transfers must comply with the Gun Control Act of 1968 and applicable ATF regulations.
Firearms may only be transferred to individuals who:
- Are legally eligible to purchase and possess firearms under federal and state law.
- Present valid, government-issued photo identification with current address.
- Successfully complete the required NICS background check (or state equivalent).
Handgun purchases must comply with both the buyer’s state of residence and the receiving state’s laws.

2. Transfer Fees

Standard firearm transfers: $25 per firearm
NFA item transfers (Form 4 / Form 5): $30 per item (excluding Silencer Shop)
Fees are non-refundable, regardless of background check results or denial.

3. Incoming Transfers (From Another Dealer or Online Retailer)

We accept transfers from licensed FFL dealers only.
Private-party transfers must be processed in accordance with state law (if permitted).
Prior to shipping, the sending dealer must provide us with a legible copy of their FFL.
All incoming transfers must include:
- Buyer’s full name
- Buyer’s contact information
- Order or reference number (if applicable)

WAIT FOR A CALL. We will notify you when your firearm arrives and is ready for pickup. We understand you may have received an alert that your item has been delivered to our location however, there are still procedures that need to be conducted before we can release it to you. If you show up without an appointment, you will be turned away.

4. Outgoing Transfers (To Another Dealer)

We can ship firearms to another FFL dealer on your behalf.
You must provide the receiving dealer’s FFL information.
Outgoing transfers are subject to shipping fees plus a transfer handling fee.

5. NFA Item Transfers

We process NFA-regulated items (such as suppressors, short-barreled rifles/shotguns, and machine guns) in strict compliance with the National Firearms Act (26 U.S.C. Chapter 53).

All NFA transfers require ATF approval via the appropriate form (Form 3, Form 4, or Form 5).
Customers are responsible for:
- Completing all required ATF paperwork.
- Paying applicable $200 transfer tax (or $5 for certain items).
- Providing valid fingerprints, passport photos, and responsible person questionnaires (for trusts or corporations).
Transfer times are subject to ATF processing and are outside our control.
NFA items will not be released until we receive official ATF approval.

6. Abandoned & Unclaimed Firearms

All firearms (including transfers and purchases) must be picked up within 30 days of customer notification that the firearm is ready.
NFA items are excluded from this limit, as they must remain in our possession until ATF approval.
Firearms not picked up within 30 days may incur a storage fee of $100 per week
Firearms not picked up within 90 days may be considered abandoned property and will become the property of Iron Sights Armory.
Customers who abandon firearms forfeit any payments made, including purchase price, transfer fees, and storage fees.

7. Failed Background Checks / Denials

If you are denied during a background check, the firearm will not be transferred.
Firearms may be returned to the original seller or placed into store inventory.
All fees (transfer, shipping, storage, etc.) are non-refundable.

8. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information and responding promptly to pickup notifications.
Failure to pick up a firearm does not relieve you of fees or obligations under this policy.
